Dominick Montie, Ph.D.
Dominick had an unusual start into the home building business. After getting his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia, he decided to take a break from academia to “do something entrepreneurial.” After several years flipping and renovating properties, he began building houses in 2008. He worked with a few builders over the years, and in 2014 started building independently to pursue his own market niche.
He currently builds custom homes in Charlottesville and surrounding counties, focusing on Craftsman, modern farmhouse, and traditional style architecture. He enjoys using his engineering background for the analytical aspects of design and construction, but what he enjoys most is working with the people involved.
Dominick is a competitive ballroom dancer and a long-time rower.
“I wake up every day excited to go to work.”
